Valentine LOVE, Post 1-4

Wow, Valentine's Day is coming up right quick!  Have you made any Valentine cards yet?  Here are a couple quick ideas to get you started. I'll post more in the coming days.

I totally CASEd this card by Catherine Pooler - so simple, but so striking!  And it was a good way to use up some of my retired Designer Series Paper!

I raised the DSP and the heart cutout with Dimensionals:

Here is the dimension from another angle:

I wanted to design a card for ladies to give to their men, and I wanted to use my new Banners framelits dies.  I came up with this card, using the anchor as a symbol of what my own husband is in my life!

I curled the banner tips with my finger and thumb, and punched holes in the accent label to thread the taffeta ribbon through.  The label sponge-inked along the edges and is mounted using Dimensionals.

Another Football Season . . .

Well, another football season has come and gone with the conclusion of the state playoff games.  Oh, how I miss it!  Two years now without a son playing football . . . ah, those were the days!

If you have a son or daughter in sports, it's time now for you to plan for those fall sports banquets ~ be sure most of all to thank the coaches!  Here's a card I created for our high school football coaches a couple years ago:

The inside held a gift card:

I found the instructions on the DOstamping with Dawn website.  Check it out for great step-by-steps and photos.  I got the design inspiration from Technostamper - love her Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!

While I was at it, I also used my design to create a few birthday cards for the guys in my life:

My Friend: Wedding-inspired Card

Happy Monday, stampers!!  Did you enjoy seeing Vonda's wedding suite last week?  I hope you did - and that it inspired you to use your My Friend stamp set in a whole new way.

Since I had all my supplies out - that's the handiest time to 'make a bit more', right? - I made a few greeting cards.  I again inked up the rubber using sponge daubers, then stamped.  The 'hello' sentiment is stamped solidly with Night of Navy and the circular design is added with Bayou Blue.  The round swirl of the 'hello' just seems made to hold those little 'dandelion' whisps!

My Friend: Wedding Reception Creations

I hope you've enjoyed taking a peek at Vonda's wedding suite this week! Today I will show you what I created for her wedding reception.

At the entrance to the reception, Vonda used a large frame with tulle beneath the glass.  To the outside of the glass she attached the Welcome sign and the directional signs to her guests knew where to go.

Each table was numbered . . .

. . . and on the back of the number cards, the guests were offered options to get the bridal couple to kiss!

Vonda also provided fun things to do at the reception, like Mad Libs and crossword puzzles!

It's been fun to share with you this week - thanks for taking a look!  There are lots more pics on Facebook, too!

My Friend: Wedding Ceremony Programs

I hope you got to see the wedding invitations I shared on Monday.  Today I will show you the reception programs. Vonda kept the design simple and to the point - but still coordinating beautifully with her whole suite.

I will have the last of Vonda's wedding suite on my blog later this week - hope you can join me!  In the meantime, take a look at even more pictures on Facebook!

My Friend: Wedding Invitations

I know you probably wonder what on EARTH I've been up to!  Yes, I do still reside on this Earth . . . I'm just busy stampin' . . . and of course, working my full time job - drat!!  No really, I love my work at the local college - but it sure cuts into my stamping time!

Last summer 2012 I worked hard on my son's and daughter-in-law's wedding suite. Then I worked on a November wedding. Soon after that, I contracted to work on  May 23rd, 2013.  Then this summer I worked on 2 September weddings and am now just starting on a December 2013 wedding!  Whew!  It takes time, but it sure is fun having a happy bride lovin' her wedding suite!

This week I want to show you all the creations I made for Vonda's wedding last May.  She had definite ideas about color and overall 'look' and we made it happen!

The Save the Date cards were sent out in December in Vonda's Christmas cards:

Next, I created the invitations - a half-sheet of white cardstock, printed and stamped.

This is a close-up of the stamping.  The stamp used is from the set called "My Friend" and is inked using sponge daubers - one for each of 3 colors. After sponging the rubber, stamp the image . . . again and again!  It took a while, but I love the result.

The invitations were matted in Night of Navy:

Ah, they are finished!!!

Boxed and ready to deliver to the beautiful bride!

I will have more of Vonda's wedding suite on my blog later this week - stay tuned!

Happy Easter, Everybunny!

Easter is finally coming soon!  All this wintery weather has gotten me to forget that!  This little dudette makes a sweet Easter greeter.  I made this card at a DOstamping class in February, and I really like how it turned out!

The glittery look comes from what Dawn Olchefske calls the Faux Diamond Dust technique.  It's pretty easy with Versamark ink and Iridescent Ice embossing powder!  And the raised, embossed design is gently sponged with Pool Party ink.

And the sweet little tulle flowers start out ivory and can be colored any shade you wish!  Just use a marker, blend with a blender pen, and attach with Gluedots.  I made my really blue - but you can use less marker to just barely tint the edges.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Everybunny
Ink:  StazOn Jet Black, Versamark, Pool Party/Pretty in Pink/Daffodil Delight markers
Paper: Pool Party, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Extras:  Flower Trim,  Bird punch, Modern Label punch, Ovals framelits, Elegant Bouquet TIEF, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, sponge daubers, blender pens

Sale-a-Brate in Bloomin' Style!

Are you stamping with your new FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp sets?  If not, get 'em out and start creating! And if you don't have any yet, don't wait too long!  SAB ends this Friday, March 22nd!  This card is made with the awesome Sale-a-Bration set called Bloomin' Marvelous.  It was designed by Dawn Olchefske and I made it at her DOstamping card class in February.

The really unique thing about this card is that we used the Delicate Details Lace Tape to make this design on a Whisper White cardstock strip.  Just stick the Lace Tape to the strip, sponge over it thoroughly, carefully remove the Tape, and attach the new lacey strip to your card.  Pretty cool, huh?!

March Madness Stampin'!

Do you catch the March Madness bug every year?  Do you diligently fill out your brackets and hope for the right teams to win?  I love this time of year and March Madness!  My sons always played basketball - and my youngest son's college season actually came to an end already.  So I'm going through 'basketball mom withdrawal syndrome' - until next season!

I created thank-you gift cards for all the coaches. The insert inside held a gift card.  Take a look!

Upsy Daisy . . . Sponged

More daisies for you today!  I experimented on this Upsy Daisy card a bit - I sponged the image with Soft Suede ink (sponge dauber and ink pad) and So Saffron reinker (on a sponge dauber), added some background splatters with a stamp, and sponged an amethyst sky.

I added buttons and paper piercing and sponged edges for a bit more detailing.

And a little stamping for the inside:
