CLOclub share: Candy Pockets

Well, since we're at it, I'll show you one more project made at our CLOclub meeting, this one from July!  I saw these cute little candy pockets at an artisan shop in Nevis, Minnesota while on vacation - and just knew my club members would love them!  I bought one, took it apart, and then made a sample for class.

Directions:
1.  Start with a 6" x 6" piece of double-sided Designer Series Paper.
2.  Fold in half, corner to corner, so you have a triangle shape.
3.  With the triangle in front of you, center 'point' up, fold the left point over so it faces 2 o'clock.
4.  Then fold the right point over so it faces 10 o'clock.
5.  The left and right points folded over should form a horizontal edge.
6.  Fold one upper point down over this horizontal edge and secure underneath with strong adhesive
     like Sticky Strip.
7.  Stamp desired sentiment, punch, layer, and attach with Dimensionals.
8.  Fill with candy and give away - and enjoy the oooh's and aaah's!

I made up a bunch more for CLOcards sales at boutiques and craft fairs . . .

Saturday Morning Videos: Pillow Boxes

Good morning and welcome to Saturday Morning Cartoons Videos!  I love using pillow boxes as favors or gifts for just about any occasion.  This pillow box pattern was found on the Internet. Do a quick search and type in pillow box. Choose your favorite. Follow the directions, embellish and assemble.

This video will show you how to make the cute ribbon on top. Punch two holes in the top flap of your pillow box. Thread a length of ribbon through -- long enough to tie a bow, using Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon. Using an additional thirty inch piece, fold into five loops, and then tie with a piece of linen thread. Tie onto box and then fluff the bow.

Saturday Morning Videos: Paper Tents

Good morning and welcome to Saturday Morning Cartoons Videos!  There are so many fabulous projects in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog and you may be wondering where do we get our inspiration for all of them? Many of the projects you see are original designs, but when we do need inspiration we look the same place you do, on the Internet.

That's where we found the pattern to make this clever tent favor. Just type in Summer Camp Tent Pattern in your search engine -- we choose this pattern featured at waffleflower.com. We modified the tent so that it was closed on one side, so we drew in an extra flap. We also made the slit in tent longer.

1. Enlarged 133%
2. Copy onto Old Olive Cardstock
3. Cut and score
4. Then stamp using the Woodgrain background stamp.
5. Adhere using sticky strip and embellish.

We made a cute pennant for our tent. Use a paper piercer to poke a hole in the top of tent for the pennant. We used ABC-123 Outline Alphabet and Number stamp set on a Tangerine Tango Triangle.
You can use this as favor for a camping theme birthday party or any other treat giving occasion.

Saturday Morning Videos: Lollipop Cover

Good morning and welcome to Saturday Morning Cartoons Videos!  Today I have for you a quick demonstration of how to make this darling candy cover. These would make fantastic party favors or little treats to give away! You can customize them with any color or stamp set so they could fit any theme or occasion and they are really quick and simple to make!

Start by cutting the larger frame shape from the Apothecary Accents Framelit dies and don't forget to use the Magnetic Platform to hold the framelit in place and make it super easy to use! You will need two of the labels.

You will also need to cut an extra shape out using a plain scrap paper , this is to use as a pattern and will help make sure you get your score and cut lines straight. Fold it in half and then you have a straight line to work with.

Use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score. Measure your candy to determine how long to cut your label. For this project you will need it to be 3-1/4" long, so we have the marker set there, then score. Then, come over another ¼ inch and score again. This second score line is actually your cut line. Use your Stampin' Trimmer or Paper Snips to trim off this edge. Do this with both labels, over lap and adhere with Sticky Strip.

Use any household paper punch to punch holes in the bottom, and thread ribbon through and tie your candy inside. We used orange 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon it's the perfect size for this! Embellish this any way you'd like. We used the Bug Me stamp set and the Remembering Your Birthday set for the greeting.

Take a look at the instructions in action!

Purple Wedding Suite: Rehearsal Dinner

I've been working like CRAZY on a wedding suite for a May bride.  Eventually, I'll show you her stationery creations.  But for now, I thought you might like to see what I created for my son Marcus' and DIL Emily's wedding - almost 3 years ago now!  Seems hard to believe.

I didn't make the invitations, but I did create some things for the Rehearsal Dinner.  And you can see a sneak peek of the ceremony program below, which I'll show you in greater detail on Friday!

Here's the outside of the Rehearsal Dinner Invitation - carrying out the purple theme with a masculine touch (keeping in mind it was for a 'groom's' dinner).  I inked the Medallion stamp in Pale Plum and then stippled the Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant inks onto certain areas of the rubber - then stamped. Sponge daubers could also be used - but I felt the stipple brushes gave a more blended look.

I like to 'logo' the back of my creations:

I also made a few things for the actual rehearsal dinner.  These are table place cards that doubled as favors.  The Hershey's Nuggets are wrapped in stamped address labels and place in a matchbox with a clear sliding lid.

Another thing I like to do for the bridal couple is create a 'guest book' of sorts of the people who are in their wedding party.  At the rehearsal, I took a single photo of each member of the wedding party.  At the dinner, each guest received a journaling card and matching pen and was asked to write memories, advice, funny stories, best wishes, etc. to the couple.  I collected these and put them along with the photos in an album.  I think Marcus and Emily really liked it!

And like I often do when I am on a designing roll, I made a few extra greeting cards using the same supplies!  I used this card for wedding congratulations.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Medallion, Sincere Salutations, Noteworthy (all retired)
Ink:  Pale Plum (retired), Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant
Paper:  Shimmery White, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Lined paper (Creative Memories)
Extras:  Large Rhinestone, Basic Black Satin Ribbon (retired), stipple brushes (retired), Matchbox die, clear transparencies, RSVP pens, Modern Label punch and Movers/Shapers die, address labels
Inspired by:  me ... and a lovely couple I just happen to know!

Do you know of a bride who would love to have personalized wedding stationery? Send her to me!  I work with many clients long distance - it is possible!  And remember ... referrals have their rewards!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to come back Friday for grand finale of Wedding Week!

Stampin' Valentine Treat Toppers

It's February 1st!  Are you planning your Valentine's treats yet? Here's a quick and easy treat bag topper I made LOTS of a couple years ago.  I used the Top Note die for the shape, and stapled them to the tops of 4"x 6" clear cellophane bags and filled them with my traditional peppermint bark!

If you fold the Top Note diecut the short way, it fits perfectly on top of a 3"x 5" cello bag!

Stamps:  Short & Sweet, Tag Alongs (both retired)
Ink:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede
Paper:  River Rock, Ruby Red (retired), Ruby Red DSP (retired)

My Little Valentine Double-Pocket Pouch ~ Sealed with LOVE!

I've been stalking all the ideas online using the 'Sealed With Love' Simply Sent Kit by Stampin' Up!, and really wanted to created something a little different.  I thought of the Double Pocket Pouches I'd made last fall and decided to see if the envelopes in the kit might suit my purpose. And they worked beautifully!  Here's what I came up with, and the instructions follow so you can make your own!

1.  Using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, place a Sealed With Love envelope with a large flap up in the corner.  Score at 0" down the middle and score again at 3/8".  Turn the envelope 180 degrees so that the other large flap is in the corner and score again at 3/8".

2.  With the red design (inside) of your pocket facing up, fold the 2 large flaps inward, overlapping, no adhesive needed.

3.  Fold the pouch in half along the 0" score line so that the small flaps match up.

4.  Fold the top half back along the 3/8" score line.

5.  Flip the pouch over and fold the other half back along the other 3/8" score line.

6.  You should have a small V fold that looks like this:

7.  Holding the small flaps together, use your 1/2" Circle punch to make a hole - use your punch upside down and be sure you move it in far enough from the tip so you don't punch through an edge!

8.  Punch several 7/8" scallop circles and mount the flower punchies (included in the kit) using mini glue dots.  You will need 2 for each pouch - one on each side.

9.  Attach the punches using the Dimensionals included in the kit.

10.  I tied the top flaps with the Real Red Baker's Twine and a little tag stamped using My Little Valentine and punched with the Small Oval punch.

11.  Score the notecards at 2 1/4".

12.  Fold and embellish as desired.

13.  I diecut a few doilies with the Delicate Doilies die and then trimmed them to just less than half. I stamped these, again using My Little Valentine stamp set, and topped the cards off with them.

14.  Stuff with treats and a card, and you're all set!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  My Little Valentine
Ink:  Whisper White craft ink
Paper:  Sealed With Love Simply Sent Kit, Real Red
Extras:  Sealed With Love Simply Sent Kit (small round punchies, Baker's Twine in Real Red, Dimensionals), 7/8" Scallop Circle punch, Small Oval punch, 1/16" Circle punch, Delicate Doilies Sizzlits die, Hershey's chocolate bars
