You can design your own like we did in the Holiday catalog or follow the simple instructions to make the one you see here!

You'll need the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit which comes with eighteen blank canvas paper pennants, six each of three designs, nine feet of jute twine to assemble the banner, pattern stencils, a full alphabet of stencils and a color spritzer. If you find that you need additional pennants for other projects you have in mind, be sure to check out our refill kit.

The Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit comes with some really fun exclusive Stampin' Up! accessories. There are pre-scored rosettes, some beautiful ribbon -- including Pumpkin Pie seam binding. And I just love the super cute, exclusive, black vintage faceted buttons.

To get started, I'd like to share with you a couple of tips to help you be successful.

• First, you may want to put a little bit of adhesive on the back of your stencil so that it's easier to keep it in place. For this particular project, we have chosen to sponge the patterns and letters using a dauber, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit, and Basic Black ink.

• To make the rosette take the pre-cut and scored strips and fold them back and forth, attach the ends together, and now you can push the center down onto some hot glue to hold it in place.

• Now all of the other kit accessories can be added, we'll string the banner together with the jute, and add bits of ribbon for the finishing touch.

I love how cute it is and how simple it was to assemble! Have fun making your Halloween even spookier with this simply amazing banner kit! Be sure to contact me to spook the halls this year - and pick up your Banner Kit in my Online Store!

And thanks for watching cartoons videos with me today!  If you're in the mood for cartoon video reruns, check out my Videos page!

This sweet card is pretty much totally CASEd from Connie Babbert - thanks, Connie!  LOVED it the first time I saw it on her blog. It uses the Peek-a-Boo Frames Bigz L die.  Too cute!  Take a peek ... literally ...

Ink only the words on the stamp image to stamp the banner ...

... then ink the jeans only to stamp the white square that goes behind the Peekaboo frame.

Pretty nifty, I'd say - but then Connie is always that - nifty and creative to the core!

Baby Banners

Hello there!  I got a question this week from Sandra.  She is involved making cards for Operation Write Home (OWH) and the guidelines prohibit much in the way of bling on cards!  You can find out more about this great ministry project HERE.  I learned a LOT - including NO GLITTER!

I told Sandra I'd try to post some ideas from time to time that would meet the guidelines and still turn out to be fun and cute cards.  I thought of this card right away, inspired by Connie Babbert.  The baby theme could easily be switched to a birthday or thinking of you theme.  Other than the dimensionals used, this card consists of all flat layers! And you could even omit the dimensional adhesive and just mount the focal point flat to the card.

These banners were cut to be 1.5" wide and 5", 4", and 3" long.  When I make this card again, however, I will make the banners 5", 4.5" and 4" long.  3" turned out to be a little short I think.  The ends were cut with a square punch turned upside down!

Thanks so much for asking for ideas, Sandra!  I hope to add more in the future, and will tag them "OWH" so you find them on a search of my blog.  And remember - any card can be 'flattened' down by mounting layers flat without dimensionals, replacing brads and buttons with small punched shapes, and replacing ribbon/knots/bows with paper strips and little punches or diecuts.  Embossing folders are a great way to add the WOW factor, too.
