Stampin' Easy Birthday Card

Ever have a birthday sneak up on you unawares?  That happens to me a lot - turn the calendar page and oh no! there's a birthday listed!  Here's a quick and easy card with a lot of WOW that you can whip together in a hurry.

It's the little things that really set this card apart - layering the flower parts, the center pearl, the soft Seam Binding ribbon against the metallic glitz of Glimmer Paper, and generous layer of Designer Series Paper!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Triple Treat Flower, On Your Birthday (both retired)
Ink:  Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz (both retired)

Extras:  Fancy Flower punch, 5-Petal Flower punch (retired), 1/2" Circle punch, Seam Binding in Pear Pizzazz (retired color, but many other colors available!), Basic Pearls

Warm Valentine Treats for a Cold Winter's Day!

Looking for a cute Valentine treat for those you love?  How about some hot chocolate and a peppermint stick?  Yes, I realize it's really a Christmas candy cane in disguise - but it was all I could find at the time!  And it's RED.  I think it will do the job!

We made these at my CLOclub class last week.  They went together pretty quickly!  The pink layer on the left was diecut and embossed, then sanded - love that Core-dinations paper with the lighter core!  A strip of red Glimmer Paper was added for a little pizzazz.  The Designer Series Paper was punched, and the hearts were stamped and diecut with Framelits - then topped off with a pearl.  The pocket was double punched on the right, ribbon threaded through to create a loop for the peppermint stick, and the bow holds it securely in place.  In goes the hot chocolate packet and you have a tasty treat for guys and gals alike!

Christmas Gift Cards and Bags

'Tis the season to give gifts, and it seems like I need little gift cards at a moment's notice!  These 3" cards are quick and cute - the perfect combination for this busy month!  Attendees at my annual Holiday Open House made these while munching on Sweet Pressed Cookies and sipping cider.

The first card was made using the exclusive Hostess Stamp Set called Four Seasons.  This set features one large stamp and one small stamp for each of the four seasons. There is a little bird on each large stamp, and this little guy has his winter hat on!  Can you see the bit of Dazzling Details on his side?

The second card is made using the stamp set Pennant Parade.  SO many occasions can be celebrated with this set!  On this card, the pennants are turned upside down to create a Christmas tree!

Punches make both of these cards a snap - scallop circle punches, plain circle punches, and pennant punches!  And because these cards are 3" square, you can get EIGHT of them out of a 12"x12" piece of cardstock!  What a deal.  Cute and cost-effective - what more could you ask?!

Add a cute gift bag to match ...

Sharing Time: Wonderfall Autumn

Wow, it's November!  And Thanksgiving is on its way.  Thank-you cards are some of my favorites to make AND send - I try to make it a regular habit to say 'thank you!'  This card was designed and offered by Dawn Olchefske at her DOstamping Card Class recently.  The Woodgrain embossing folder gives a nice backgroud - and even distresses the Core'dinations paper on the way through the Big Shot!  Love that - 2 effects at one time!  And the Champagne Glimmer Paper adds a nice contrast to the earthy feel of the card.

Be sure to click on Dawn's name below to see her original card and watch a quick video of her technique in cutting and stamping the leaf.

Thank YOU for sharing, Dawn!!!
