Saturday Morning Videos: Pillow Boxes

Good morning and welcome to Saturday Morning Cartoons Videos!  I love using pillow boxes as favors or gifts for just about any occasion.  This pillow box pattern was found on the Internet. Do a quick search and type in pillow box. Choose your favorite. Follow the directions, embellish and assemble.

This video will show you how to make the cute ribbon on top. Punch two holes in the top flap of your pillow box. Thread a length of ribbon through -- long enough to tie a bow, using Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon. Using an additional thirty inch piece, fold into five loops, and then tie with a piece of linen thread. Tie onto box and then fluff the bow.

A BIG Thank-you to YOU!

THANK YOU so much to everyone who has supported me in my CLOcards and Stampin' Up! venture this last year! I was acknowledged in my upline Dawn Olchefske's awards and wanted to share the good news with you, too! I appreciate your business - but even more, I appreciate your friendship. Thanks again!

Are you wondering what I chose as my 'award'?  It's one of the brand new single stamps from the Holiday Collection called "Christmas Star":
Christmas Star Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Isn't it beautiful?!  And big - I'm guessing it's about 4" in actual size!  I'll find out soon.

Now that summer is coming to a close, I think my life will get back to a regular rhythm - and hopefully there will be a whole lot more blog posts! Thanks for hanging in there - and thanks for stopping by today!

Saturday Morning Videos: Paper Flowers

Good morning and welcome to Saturday Morning Cartoons Videos!  TodaI want to show you how to make this cute Creped Filter Paper flower featured on page 25 of the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.

1. Using Fun Flowers Bigz L Die, cut Creped Filter Paper (six layers for Tangerine Tango petals, and two layers for Daffodil Delight petals)
2. Load Brayer with ink from ink pad, roll color onto smooth side of creped paper. Repeat this step until desired color saturation is reached. May need to ink both sides of filter paper.
3. Layer flowers in staggered order.
4. Attach together with stapler or pierce center and use a brad.
5. Scrunch flowers from top down to get desired look.
6. Punch 3/4" circle from Old Olive Cardstock. Pierce center.
7. Prepare floral wire and thread through Old Olive Circle.
8. Attach to back of flower using hot glue.

Saturday Morning Videos: Paper Tents

Good morning and welcome to Saturday Morning Cartoons Videos!  There are so many fabulous projects in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog and you may be wondering where do we get our inspiration for all of them? Many of the projects you see are original designs, but when we do need inspiration we look the same place you do, on the Internet.

That's where we found the pattern to make this clever tent favor. Just type in Summer Camp Tent Pattern in your search engine -- we choose this pattern featured at waffleflower.com. We modified the tent so that it was closed on one side, so we drew in an extra flap. We also made the slit in tent longer.

1. Enlarged 133%
2. Copy onto Old Olive Cardstock
3. Cut and score
4. Then stamp using the Woodgrain background stamp.
5. Adhere using sticky strip and embellish.

We made a cute pennant for our tent. Use a paper piercer to poke a hole in the top of tent for the pennant. We used ABC-123 Outline Alphabet and Number stamp set on a Tangerine Tango Triangle.
You can use this as favor for a camping theme birthday party or any other treat giving occasion.

Saturday Morning Videos: Markering Your Stamps

Good morning and welcome to Saturday Morning Cartoons Videos! I want to show you a fabulous technique with a fun tool that is perfect for any stamper. It's a Stampin' Write Marker! It inexpensively expands your ink selection—allowing you to stamp images in any color (or colors) you choose!

Click on the Pic . . .
(Email readers go to my BLOG to see this!)

Here are a few tips:1. Breathing. You always want to "huff" on your stamps after you color them to moisten the ink right before you stamp.
2. Next—tapping. After coloring your image, just tap the image with another marker, and you get a cool two-toned effect!
3. When markering your stamps, if you color outside the lines, you can always remove any unwanted ink easily with a Blender pen.
4. And don't forget about spritzing. (You can do this when using an ink pad too.) After you are finished markering the image, just give it a spritz with water and it changes the way the stamped image looks. It gives it a softer, water-colored look.

Markering allows to you get every color on the stamp, perfectly, without any other steps. Markering your stamps opens up a whole world of possibilities. Try it today!  And thanks for watching cartoons videos with me today!  If you're in the mood for cartoon video reruns, check out my Videos page!
