More Stampin' Friends' Card Creations

I mentioned on Tuesday that I stamp with a group of girlfriends about once a month - we 'shoebox swap' our card ideas and it's always fun to see what each of us comes up with.  Here are a few more of my friends' card swaps!

Stampin' Friends and Card Creations

Do you have a group of friends that crafts together?  I have a group of girls I stamp together with about once a month - when we can get our schedules to match up!  We thought it would be easier once our kids grew up and moved on - but it seems to be getting more difficult to keep our calendars free!  The times we spend together are well worth the effort, though.

When we get together, we have a 'shoebox swap' where we each make a card and bring all the supplies for the rest of the group to make our card. I thought today I would share some of their card projects with you.

Valentine LOVE, Post 4-4

Happy Valentine's Day
stampin' friends!  Here are a couple more Valentine cards to inspire you!

This card was the result of waaaaay too much Pinterest surfing!  Well, maybe never too much . . . ha!  Banners are all the rage, and I love love love my new Banners Framelits dies - they make banner tails perfect and quick to make!

I flared the banner tails a bit  by pressing and curling them between my thumb and forefinger . . .

The embossed strip is separate from the card - I embossed it, wrapped the ribbon around the bottom edge, and attached it over the tops of the banners and flush with the top edge of the card fold.

This card was inspired by another card designed by my stampin' friend, Shirley Guzzi.  So simple - I love that! - and yet elegant and pretty.

I don't often use Rose Red, but I had some Rose Red Seam Binding that I wanted to use up, so I pulled out the card stock and ink, too.

The tulip images uses the two-step stamping technique:  the more solid image is stamped lighter, and the detail image is stamped darker.  I stamped both images using Rose Red ink.  I 'stamped off' the solid image on scratch paper before stamping it again on the white cardstock - this creates a lighter image.  Then I stamped the detail image full strength right over the solid image to create darker detail.

Got Gift Cards? Stamp a Cute Holder!

The older my kids get, the more I choose gift cards so they can buy just the right 'make and model' of that special something they're wishing for.  It's kind of fun to dress up the packaging a bit, though.  My friend Shirley found this idea on Splitcoaststampers and shared it with our stamping group.

This card is made in the usual 4.25" x 5.5" size, lined with any pretty paper you wish.  The 2 gift card 'holders' are cut at 5.25" x 4" and scored at 1", 2", and 3" parallel to the 5.25" side.  Adhere the first folded square 'tube' to the bottom and back of the open card.  Adhere the second 'tube' to the first tube to the bottom of the card and ALSO to the other tube just a bit on each end so the gift card can still slide in between them.

When the card is closed, the tubes fold flat and keep the gift card held between them!  Here is a pic of the closed card, secured with an embellished belly band over an attached strip of pretty paper.  On this card, I used wide grosgrain ribbon for my belly band - you could also use cardstock.

Such a fun way to deliver a gift card!  I hope you give it a try this year!
